Frequently Asked
Q: Why does the system operate on a 4 arrow pad?
A: Dance games using north, south, east and west as the directions for stepping are the most fun, logical and easy to learn. Plus, 4 arrow systems are the most familiar with children as they are the same as the home and arcade dance mat products.
Q: What is the difference between Windows pc and Linux pc?
A: The main difference between using Linux and Windows is stability. Everyone who operates a Windows PC knows that Windows use a lot of programs that all need to interact with each other, and this can cause delays, crashes and general instability when used in the gaming world. We chose Linux because it is very straightforward and stable and also contains the best graphic cards to display our 3D game engine.
Q: How often are upgrades introduced and will they be compatible with existing systems?
A: We will be continually investing in R&D to generate the best dance game in the leisure market place. All foreseeable upgrades will be compatible with any other iDANCE version, iDANCE version 2 is going to be a product that will really define future dance game multiplayer systems, as it brings in extremely exciting elements.
Q: How much space will I need to operate the system?
A: The amount of space needed for a system depends greatly on what size of system is purchased, due to its mobile flexibility you only need dedicated floor space for when iDANCE is in active use, after exercising it is easy to dissemble and stow away.
Q: I can only afford a 4 mat system but teach a class size of 22, how would this work?
A: Team relay games are extremely popular with larger class sizes, the other team members not on the mat, encourage and motivate whilst still joining in by tapping the dance steps on the floor – this a fun and competitive way to engage groups.
Q: How durable are the platforms?
A: All dance platforms are sold with a 3 year warranty however we expect them to outlive this time period. The mats are designed by a dance game specialist to ensure the highest level of product excellence; they are manufactured from polycarbonate which is extremely durable, scratch resistant and hard wearing whilst being very lightweight.
Q: How many hours play will I get from a dance mat and why do you use a charging system, not batteries?
A: A fully charged dance mat will provide approx 70 hours of active play. We chose a charging system that was simple to operate, offered longevity and required little technical support. The charging system goes through a process of discharging to empty then charging the battery in full – similar to that of a mobile phone. The charging process can be easily carried out whilst the mats are stowed away in their storage cart.
Q: Why do you not use chart music?
A: Chart music is often not suitable for dance games because of lyrics, speed and lack of other elements to get a good dance game step chart. Dance game music is created in sync with the step chart to provide a fun, interactive exercise that players don’t get tired of.
